Should a brain dead woman be taken off life support if she’s pregnant (9 weeks)

This has happened recently in America to a woman called Adriana Smith. She died when she was 9 weeks pregnant and was kept on life support to allow the baby to develop, against the families wishes. This has become a huge controversy and I wanted the Islamic point of view of this.
