At one place Allah says, hatred for disbelievers upon whom proof has been established is accepted. You already have an ***excellent example*** in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, “We totally dissociate ourselves from you and ˹shun˺ whatever ˹idols˺ you worship besides Allah. We reject you. ***The enmity and hatred that has arisen between us*** and you will last until you believe in Allah alone. Quran 60:4 But at another place in sunnah reports. It's mentioned that Allah loves abu jahl or umar in mushrik/kaafir state. O Allah, strengthen Islam with ***one of two men whom you love more : Abu Jahl*** or Umar ibn al-Khattab.” Ibn Umar said, “The most beloved of the two was Umar.” Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3681 How do I reconcile between the two reports?
