Is praying in a masjid that is 15 mins Away obligatory?

Assalamu alaikum, hope you are well, I was wondering if it was obligatory for me to pray in a masjid that is 15 mins Away from my home. As when i ask my parent to let me go and pray my five daily prayers in the masjid, they say it's to far.
