Does the evil eye only affect muslims?

I've been taught and I have also read that the evil eye is real. What I don't understand is that there are many many extremely rich and wealthy non Muslims, who many many people will envy. Why don't they ever get affected by the evil eye? Or does the evil eye only affect you if you're Muslim?
