A recent archaeological "discovery", a trove of medieval documents just made available to the West contains a letter, the petition of a wife of a Salik of an Al-Kurani, who has become consumed by life at Kurani's Zawiye, "The Mountain" lodge. Kurani is 'Imam al-musallikin', 'the master of the trainers': Imam Al-Kurani is a master of *Taslik*, initiation of seekers to the mystic path. In her letter the wife begs the prince-magistrate to bring back her husband who has abandoned house, home, her, and their three young children for the mystic path, for life at the mountain lodge. But in her letter the Zawiya is simply referred to repeatedly as "the Mountain" What was the name of Al-Kurani's Lodge and where precisely was it located: on which Mountain 🌋 ?
