Is it possible to be a good Christian and be psychic at the same time?

I've seen many conflicting biblical statements that have been interpreted as condemning psychics and others that promote using "gifts from God". How can a psychic reconcile such a gift without conflicting with biblical teachings? For that matter, if one is psychic, how can you tell if it's a gift from God or somewhere else?
