If viññāṇa discriminates, what experiences?

I read the following on the internet: > Traditionally, Pāli says that viññāṇa does the action of vijānāti > which etymologically must mean something like "discriminating". I > equate it with identifying the object that one is experiencing If viññāṇa discriminates, what experiences? Does the phrase above: "one is experiencing" refer to a "Self" ("Atman") experiencing? What exactly is this "One" that is experiencing?
